The bankruptcy of Enron in December 2001 shocked the business world since prior to its bankruptcy, it was just recently declared a top performing company. Its bankruptcy was a result of too much debt and high risk investments. However, its disaster was not mainly due to the fault of the company but by other factors such as regulations (Niskanen, 2002). As such, this study is being conducted so as to determine the factors that led to the firms demise particularly accounting policy.
